3 years after my trip in Japan, I’m still wondering what I ate.

It was very bland but with this strange sweet powder, it was perfect !
とてもさっぱりしていたけど、不思議な甘い粉のおかげで完璧だった！

I think it's yaki-yomogi manju (焼きよもぎまんじゅう), but the texture is not perfectly matching.
Did it taste like anything?

Really the taste was bland with a compact texture. I’ve never eat that herb so I can’t compare. The only thing ≪ similar ≫ that I know is a potato.

You wrote compact, though I'm not sure exactly. Was it soft or hard? Chewy or dry/crumbling? That would give some clue about the main search used.
